Team Codes: How They Work
Team codes are unique identifiers that allow players and parents to join a specific team on RateMyCoach.
What is a Team Code?
A team code is a short alphanumeric code (e.g., HAWKS-2026) created by a coach or team admin. When you enter this code, you'll be added to the team roster, giving you access to the team chat, calendar, and other team features.
How to Find Your Team Code
- 1Ask your coach or team administrator for the code. They can find it in their team settings.
- 2Check your email, coaches often send join links that include the code automatically.
- 3Look for a QR code on team flyers or registration materials that links directly to the join page.
How to Join a Team
- Navigate to Join Team from your dashboard or use the direct link
/join/YOUR-CODE - Enter the team code when prompted
- Review the team details and confirm you want to join
- You'll be added to the team and can start accessing team features immediately
Troubleshooting
"Invalid team code"
Double-check the code for typos. Codes are case-insensitive but must match exactly. The code may have expired, ask your coach for a fresh one.
"Team is full"
Some teams have roster limits. Contact your coach to increase the limit or have them add you manually.
"You must be logged in"
Create a RateMyCoach account or log in first, then try the team code again.
