Coach Guide
For coaches who work with a team or organization. Your home base is the Sideline. You might be org-only (a club assigns you to teams), an independent/private coach who takes 1:1 bookings, or both — this guide covers team coaching first, then private bookings. There is no free coach tier.
Get verified first
Before you show up as trustworthy to families, complete verification:
Identity verification
A photo of your ID plus a quick liveness check (powered by Yardstik). Proves you are who you say you are.
Background check
Start it from your coach dashboard, pick your state, and it runs through Yardstik. Until it completes, you won't carry a "Verified" badge.
Certifications
Upload any coaching certifications under Settings → Certifications.
Your Sideline
From the Sideline you reach everything for the teams you coach:
- Teams — your assigned teams.
- Roster — your players and lineup.
- Tracker — record stats live during practices and games.
- Calendar — schedule and manage events.
- Chat & bulletins — communicate with your team.
- Reviews — read the feedback families leave, and respond.

Open your team and tap "Tracker"
Choose Game or Practice.
Pick the sport template
We support 15 sports, each with its own stats.
Record stats as play happens
Tap a player and log points, assists, times, plus/minus, and sport-specific fields.
Mark skill mastery
When a player demonstrates a skill, it timestamps on their profile and builds their progression record.
Save the result
Families see the stats on their athlete's profile right away.
Who can enter stats
Only the head coach and assistant coaches input the tracker and mark skills. Team coordinators ("Team Mom") and parents can view but not enter — this keeps performance data accountable.Calendar, chat, and bulletins
- Calendar — create practices, games, and travel; families see them automatically.
- Team chat — channels keep conversations organized (a coaches-only channel, a general team channel, and more).
- Bulletins — post an announcement and pin it as a sticky in team chat. Org-wide announcements appear for your approval before they stick.
Reviews and your Trust Score
Families can review you. Your Trust Score blends verification, reviews, and safety signals, and stays hidden until you have 5+ reviews. Read and respond to reviews from your dashboard — responses are public and moderated, so keep them professional.
Equipment and tournaments
If your team or org tracks gear, manage what's checked out to players and generate hand-receipts for accountability. You (or your org) can also create tournaments, register teams, and run brackets, schedules, and live standings.
If you also take private 1:1 bookings
Independent coaches can be listed in the private coach directory and take paid bookings. There's a short setup flow — you can't go live until it's complete, which is how families know everyone listed is real and verified.
Profile
Your name, bio, sports, age groups, and rates.
Verification
Complete identity verification and a background check (both via Yardstik). Families filter on this.
Locations
Set your base locations and a travel radius if you go to clients.
Connect payments (Stripe)
Link a Stripe account so you get paid; checkout is hosted, so card data never touches our pages.
Go live
Set your availability, and families can book the slots you open.
Bookings appear in your dashboard for you to accept or decline; your earnings show under Earnings.
Common questions
Do I have to pay?
Coaches don't have a free tier. Your access depends on your coaching role (org-assigned, private subscriber, or both). Your organization may cover your seat.
When do I show as "Verified"?
After identity verification and the background check complete.
Can my assistant enter stats?
Yes — head coach and assistant coaches can. Team coordinators and parents can view only.
A review seems unfair.
You can respond publicly (professionally). If it violates our rules, report it — moderation reviews flagged content. Honest criticism can't simply be removed.
My background check is expiring.
Renew it from your dashboard before it lapses; your org sees expirations and may pause you until it's current.
