Parent & Guardian Guide
Everything you can do as the adult managing one or more athletes. Your home base is the Parent dashboard, where you manage your athletes, find and review coaches, message coaches, follow your kids' teams, and handle your plan.
Add an athlete
Tap "Add Child"
From your dashboard, start a new athlete profile.
Enter their details
Name, date of birth, and primary sport. You can add social handles and a photo too.
Verify if they are under 13
You'll complete a one-time identity check (a photo of your ID plus a quick liveness check, powered by Yardstik) to confirm you are their adult guardian.
Why the ID check for young children?
Children under 13 are protected by COPPA. A verified adult must consent before they can use messaging or have certain data. It takes a couple of minutes and you only do it once.Manage an athlete's profile
Open an athlete to see and manage:
- Stats — game-by-game and season totals, plus skills a coach has marked as mastered.
- Calendar — their team's practices, games, and events.
- Equipment — gear checked out to them.
- Medical & emergency contacts — kept private, shared only with the people who need them.
- Documents & media — files within your storage allowance.
- GHST TRKR (coming soon) — real-time GPS during practice and travel, visible only to you.
Give a 13+ athlete their own login
Athletes 13 and older can have their own account while you keep access to manage their profile.
Open the athlete and choose "Link Athlete Login"
Or invite them by email.
They accept and set a password
They get their own Athlete dashboard.
You both have access
You still manage their profile; they can log in, edit their own profile, message with safety rules in place, and (on a paid plan) write reviews.
Add your spouse or co-parent
Invite a second guardian by email from your athlete's profile or your account settings. When they accept, they're linked as a secondary guardian and can view and help manage the same athletes.
Find and review coaches
Tap Find Coaches and filter by sport, location, and Trust Score. Open a coach's profile to see their verification status, reviews, and (once they have 5+ reviews) their Trust Score.
Reading Trust Score
It blends verification, reviews, and safety signals, and stays hidden until a coach has at least 5 reviews so one opinion can't swing it. A disclaimer appears with every score.Writing a review requires a paid plan. On a coach's profile, tap Write a Review, rate the categories (communication, instruction, safety), add honest comments, and submit. Your review is moderated before it appears publicly, usually within a day. See everything you've written under My Reviews.

Open a coach and tap "Book a Session"
Review their availability and reviews first.
Pick a time and pay securely
Payment runs through Stripe's hosted checkout — your card details never touch RateMyCoach.
The coach confirms
You'll see it under Bookings, and can message them in-app.
Messaging coaches
Tap Messages to reach a coach directly.
- Free accounts: up to 5 messages per week (resets Monday).
- Paid accounts: full messaging.
- Children under 13: messaging is parent-supervised and requires your identity verification first.
All messages are moderated for safety.
Following your child's team
When your athlete joins a team (via a team code or a registration link), you can see the team calendar, read chat and bulletins the coach posts, and view stats the coach records. You're a viewer here — coaches run the team. To join, ask the coach or league for a team code, then tap Join Team and enter it.
Your plan, storage, and billing
Free gets you browsing, reading reviews, joining a team, and limited messaging. Paid unlocks writing reviews, full messaging, and optional storage tiers that keep your athletes' stats history forever.
- Storage Tier 1 — 2 GB — $2.99/mo or $29.99/yr

- Storage Tier 3 — 25 GB — $9.99/mo or $99.99/yr
Storage tiers are a shared family pool across your linked athletes. Manage everything under Settings → Subscription.

How many athletes can I add?
Add each child in your family; storage tiers are shared across them.
My 13-year-old wants to message their coach themselves.
Give them their own login. At 13+ they can message with safety rules in place.
Can my spouse and I both manage our kids?
Yes — add them as a co-parent from your athlete's profile or account settings.
A coach has no Trust Score. Why?
They have fewer than 5 reviews yet. Look at their verification status and individual reviews instead.
Do I need to verify my ID for a 14-year-old?
Identity verification is required for children under 13. For 13+ athletes with their own login, it isn't required for everyday use.
