Terms of Service

3.1 Registration: You must provide accurate and complete information when creating an account. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials.

3.2 Age Requirements: Users under 13 years of age require verified parental consent in compliance with COPPA regulations. Parents must complete identity verification through our approved verification partners.

3.3 Account Types: Different account types (Parent, Coach, Athlete, Organization) have different features and responsibilities as described in the Service.

4.1 Trust Scores: Coach Trust Scores are calculated based on verification status, reviews, and safety records. Trust Scores are informational only and do not constitute an endorsement or guarantee of coach quality or safety.

4.2 Safety Screening: Coaches may optionally complete background checks through third-party providers. RateMyCoach does not conduct safety screening directly and is not responsible for the accuracy of third-party verification results.

4.3 User Responsibility: Users are responsible for conducting their own due diligence when selecting coaches. The Service provides tools and information to assist in this process but does not guarantee coach suitability.

5.1 Review Guidelines: Reviews must be honest, based on genuine experiences, and comply with our Community Guidelines. Reviews are subject to AI-powered moderation and may be removed if they violate our policies.

5.2 Prohibited Content: Users may not post content that is defamatory, harassing, discriminatory, sexually explicit, or violates any applicable laws.

5.3 Content Rights: By posting content on RateMyCoach, you grant us a non-exclusive license to display, distribute, and use that content in connection with the Service.

6.1 Subscriptions: Some features require a paid subscription. Subscription fees are billed in advance and are non-refundable except as required by law.

6.2 Private Coaching Payments: Payments for private coaching sessions are authorized at booking and held until the session is completed. RateMyCoach collects a 1% platform facilitation fee on private coaching transactions. Standard payment-processing fees (approximately 2.9% + $0.30) charged by our payment provider apply separately.

6.3 Cancellation Policy: Cancellation and refund policies for private coaching sessions are set by individual coaches and displayed at the time of booking.

RateMyCoach is funded by subscriptions. The following are binding commitments, not merely policy preferences:

• No data sale. We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information, or the personal information of any child or athlete on your account, to any third party.
• No advertising. We do not display third-party advertising on the Service, and we do not serve behavioral or targeted ads.
• No sharing with ad networks or data brokers. We do not share your personal information with advertising networks or data brokers, and we do not use it for ad targeting.

Member Benefits (reserved).We may offer an optional, curated Member Benefits program in which partners make discounts or perks available to subscribers. Any such program is opt-in, is not advertising, and is not behaviorally targeted. We will not share your personal information with a partner unless you choose to act on an offer yourself (for example, by redeeming a code on the partner's site). This reservation does not limit the commitments above.
